WebNov 2, 2008 · Buy new pan kit and high temp silicone, take out bolts, scrape off an existing crap, install gasket on pan squirt silicone on both sides of front and rear seals (overlapping on to pan gasket) install them on pan push up to motor and snug bolts, then look up correct tightening torque and pattern. WebDec 4, 2024 · As another poster replied, perhaps the slinger's purpose is to keep the fuel pump arm lubricated, and is not necessary for FI 5.0s/351Ws with electric pumps. I don't think it was there to avoid oil leakage around the front seal. Ford would have just made a better seal instead of spending money on metal slingers for millions of engines.
